I just realized that it's been almost a week since I've written anything, which is just about the longest I've gone. I felt bad, loyal reader, so I thought I'd drop in with a few updates:
Charlotte woke up last Sunday morning with a temperature of about 103. Since she was born, they told us to call for anything over 100.4, so of course I promptly freaked right out. I called the after-hours doctor and they didn't seem concerned, which unfortunately didn't do much to make me feel better. Poor Charlotte was just feeling horrible--I could barely stand to touch her she was so hot, and she was just lying around all day, not interested in playing or eating or anything.
I took her to the doctor on Monday, who pretty much said the same thing as the on-call doctor said...then she gave me some amoxicillin, which: duh, that doesn't really do anything for the flu. Oh well, I suppose it was meant to make me feel better. By Tuesday, Charlotte appeared to be feeling better, though she still slept a lot. On Wednesday, Mommy had to go back to work, so Charlotte and her germs went back to Ms. Terri's. Ah, the joys of daycare. I keep telling myself that her immune system will be the stronger for it.
Last night was Homecoming on the Ridge...and that's all I'm going to say about that. Really.
OK I lied. There are two things. First, classy girls wear panties. Second, by the time Charlotte is going to dances, I'm afraid that the "in" thing to do will be to just dispense altogether with the pretense of a "dress" and just go naked. Seriously, don't these girls' mothers CARE about what their daughters are wearing?
